Sketchfab launches Sketchfab.me 3D portfolios

Model-viewing site Sketchfab has launched Sketchfab.me, a new service for creating online portfolios.

Uploaded models can be viewed interactively in any WebGL-enabled browser. Users can also post a brief personal statement, while a contact form enables potential employers to send messages.

Sketchfab is currently working on adding image-based fallback, automatically displaying a 360-degree image when WebGL isn’t available: for example, in Internet Explorer or on iOS devices.

Sketchfab.me costs $7 per month for professionals. Students can use the service for free, if their school or college is on Sketchfab’s list of approved institutions.

Standard Sketchfab accounts are free for files up to 50MB, with a range of paid options for larger assets.
