The 3D Ninja has just relased an iPhone app for creating handheld camera animations in Maya.
CameraMan for Maya uses the phone’s in-built motion sensor to record rotation on three spatial axes – ideal for simulating those cinema verite shakeycam shots.
According to the product blog: “The app uses the Gyroscope found in the iPhone 4 to control the X,Y and Z rotations of the 3D camera. It also allows you to adjust the camera’s focal length using a slider, record animation and provides Maya timeline playback controls from the iPhone.”
