Discover how Blur created its amazing Titanfall 2 trailer


Four of Blur Studio’s supervisors and project leads will be explaining how the firm created its ‘Become One’ trailer for Titanfall 2 at a free event at Gnomon this Saturday, 17 December.

The two-hour presentation will be followed by the launch party for The Art of Blur Studio, a new exhibition of the legendary visual effects facility’s work at the neighbouring Gnomon Gallery.

Since its release in October, Become One has had over eight million views on Titanfall 2 developer Respawn Entertainment’s YouTube channel alone.

The 100-second game cinematic shows giant battle mechs and their human pilots engaged in single combat against a range of gorgeous natural backdrops, all rendered to Blur’s traditional standards of photorealism.

In its presentation at Gnomon’s Hollywood campus, the firm will discuss how it was able to complete the hybrid live-action/VFX project in just 11 weeks, from storyboards to delivery.

Speakers include four of Blur’s key staff: VFX supervisor Dan Akers, asset supervisor Oded Raz, CG supervisor Chris Bedrosian and VES Award-nominated lead compositor Nitant Ashok Karnik.

Free to attend or watch online
The Titanfall 2 Trailer Making Of with Blur Studio event takes place at Gnomon’s Hollywood campus from 5.30-7.30 pm on Saturday 17 December. It’s free to attend, but you’ll need to register online first.

The event will also be broadcast worldwide on Gnomon’s Livestream channel. You don’t need to register for the Livestream, and can ask questions via Twitter using the hashtag #gnomon.

Followed by a free gallery exhibition of the best of Blur’s artwork
The event will be followed by the launch party for The Art of Blur Studio, an new exhibition of of more than 60 artworks created for projects including Dishonored 2, Tom Clancy’s The Division and Elder Scrolls online.

Held at the neighbouring Gnomon Gallery, both the reception and the exhibition itself – which runs until February 2017 – are also open to the public.
