See The Making of The Leviathan Teaser Trailer

Gnomon School of Visual Effects has announced The Making of The Leviathan Teaser Trailer: a free presentation and Q&A session with award-winning filmmaker Ruairi Robinson at its Hollywood campus on 11 February.

Robinson – an Academy Award nominee for his 2001 short Fifty Percent Grey – will be talking about his proof-of-concept trailer for The Leviathan: a science-fiction retelling of Moby Dick.

The viral success of the trailer, which you can see above, led to the film being picked up by 20th Century Fox as a full-length feature, produced by District 9 director Neill Blomkamp and X-Men writer/producer Simon Kinberg.

In his presentation at Gnomon, Robinson will explain how the incredible four-minute teaser was created, and answer questions from audience members and anyone following the session via Livestream.

Attend in person, or watch for free online
The Making of The Leviathan Teaser Trailer takes place at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood from 7.30-9.00pm on Thursday 11 February. The event is free to attend, but you’ll need to register online in advance.

If you can’t make it to LA in person, Gnomon will also be broadcasting the session free on its Livestream channel, with the option to ask questions via Twitter using the hashtag #gnomon.
