Now that Halo 4 has been out for a couple of weeks, Polycount has posted a nice piece about the environment art from the first-person shooter, written by the team at 343 Industries themselves.
Rather than using a conventional format, the story consists of concept art and screenshots followed by a brief explanation from the artist responsible.
It makes the content easy to digest, providing an interesting insight into the design philosophy of a game in which, in the words of Lead Lighting Artist Kenny Magnusson, “basically every shot is a hero shot”.
