Most of the shorts we feature are a feast for the eyes. Today’s eye candy is a feast of a different kind.
Slimtime, created by Supinfocom Arles students Bertrand Avril, Pierre Chomat, David Dangin and Thea Matland, takes place in a very unusual slimming clinic.
A homage to comedy legend Jacques Tati, the short follows bumbling everyman André around the facility while his wife takes the probably-not-FDA-approved cure.
Look out for some nice sight gags (the plants in the lobby look like they could stand to shed a few pounds themselves), an understated visual style that also carries over into the score, and, ultimately, a rather sweet message about accepting yourself for who you are.
