He's worked on such titles as Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within and "Alone in the Dark". The highly talented Nicolas Bouvier or “Sparth” will probably end up working in Hollywood. With a talent like his, I believe it's a sure bet. I'd like to believe he is only beginning to flex his creative muscle. Nicolas talks about his career and the balance of having a life outside the office, also known as “having a family life”.

CGC: First of all, where does your artist name “Sparth” comes from?

Nicolas: Actually I was forced to choose an artistic nickname instead of keeping my real name, as there is already a Swiss writer and artist called Nicolas Bouvier. Even though he passed away around 2000, I felt like my real name was already "borrowed". It was just a feeling really, but I think today that I made the right choice, as "Sparth" sounds more international than nicolas bouvier. And when it comes to a career, I prefer not being affiliated to any precise country.

Sparth comes from Spartan, the people from Sparta , a city in ancient Greece . I remember that I was fascinated by their history in my youth, and I guess that it translated precisely my actual artistic assiduity. However I wouldn't want to be categorized as extreme, at least not as much as these people. They were quite harsh and military when it comes to education. For me, that name is just synonymous with hard work and describes my passionate personality, nothing more. And the "h" at the end comes from the name of my first kid Arthur. It is actually the first time I reveal this in an interview.

CGC: Well, I always like to ask weird, unusual questions. Keeps the interviews interesting.
