Eye candy: the Transformers Super Bowl spot

Yesterday, some large men threw a ball around a field. Bruno Mars did a thing. And then there were trailers.

Teasers for both The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier aired during Super Bowl XLVIII, but given that the first was the usual mix of angst and web swinging, and the second was a giant plug for the real trailer, our personal highlight from yesterday’s market-a-thon was Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Optimus Prime, spaceships, and Mark Wahlberg yelling in veeeeerrrry slooooow mooootion notwithstanding, the key factor was the giant robot dinosaurs. You only see them briefly, but we repeat: Giant Robot Dinosaurs.

The movie itself goes on worldwide release in July. As usual, Industrial Light & Magic is handling the VFX, including those lovely Dinobots.
