In the tutorial, Vawter explores how to animate an action shot from scratch inside Maya, creating an animation of a skateboarder performing tricks.

He begins by introducing the tools used throughout the tutorial, before moving on to blocking out the shot, working through the spline process and applying final polish to the animation.

As well as explaining his own animation process, Vawter shares workflow tips developed through years of production experience at studios like Blizzard Entertainment, Industrial Light & Magic and DreamWorks.
