Discover how to get your first job in the CG industry

Artists from CoSA VFX, DreamWorks Animation and Respawn Entertainment will reveal how they got their first jobs in the CG industry at a free event at Gnomon next Thursday, 22 August 2019.

The event, The Road to the Visual Effects Industry: An Evening with Gnomon Alumni, will also be broadcast worldwide on Gnomon’s Twitch channel: you can watch it via the player embedded above.

Essential careers advice for aspiring VFX, animation or games artists
Despite the title, the careers advice presented during the session will apply equally to game development and feature animation: industry sectors in which two of its presenters now work.

Visual effects itself is represented by animator Eevee Saucedo, currently working at CoSA VFX on projects including DC Universe’s Swamp Thing. Her previous credits include Lucifer and Stranger Things.

DreamWorks Animation character artist Gary Tang also worked in visual effects at Encore Hollywood before moving to his current role, on shows including Doom Patrol, The Flash and Supergirl.

They will be joined on stage by Lucas Sparks, senior environment artist at Respawn Entertainment, currently at work on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. His previous credits include God of War and The Order: 1886.

During the session, the speakers – all of them alumni of Gnomon itself – will discuss how they became CG professionals, and provide their careers advice for young artists hoping to get their first job in the industry.
