Legendary videogame concept artist, Cecil Kim, will lead an exclusive event at Gnomon School in Hollywood on Saturday, April 14th, revealing the conception and development of Section Studios’ ‘Rival: Crimson x Chaos’ strategy battle game.


Legendary God of War concept artist Cecil Kim will host a free talk at Gnomon’s Hollywood campus next Saturday, 14 April 2018, revealing how his new company created its latest game.

The event, The Art of Rival: Crimson x Chaos with Section Studios, will also be broadcast worldwide on Livestream. You can watch via the player embedded above.

A detailed look at the character and environment art for Section Studios’ latest game
The three-hour presentation will reveal how Section Studios created Rival: Crimson x Chaos, its new PVP strategy game for Android mobiles.

For the event, Kim will be joined on stage by game director Katon Callaway, lead artist David Viola and character artists Kristopher Vita and Daniel Johnson.

The team will discuss the game’s character art from from concept to completion, the design and creation of the Rival arena environment, and the texture-creation process for characters, weapons, and towers.

The talks are split into two sessions, with an intermission for networking, and the evening will be rounded off with an audience Q&A and an art book giveaway.

Free to attend, but register online in advance
The Art of Rival: Crimson x Chaos with Section Studios takes place at Gnomon’s Hollywood campus from 7.30-10.30pm on Saturday 14 April 2018. Entry is free, but you’ll need to register online in advance.

If you can’t make it to LA, you can also watch the workshow free on Gnomon’s Livestream channel. You don’t need to register to watch the stream, and can ask questions via Twitter using the hashtag #gnomon.
