Foundry ships Nuke, NukeX and Nuke Studio 11.1

Foundry has released Nuke, NukeX and Nuke Studio 11.1, the latest versions of its family of compositing products, adding new visual tools for troubleshooting scripts, and more control over file localisation.

Nuke Studio also gets a new workflow for handling source clips more consistent with that of Nuke itself.

New Profile node helps users spot performance bottlenecks in scripts visually
Features common to all three Nuke products include new tools for performance-profiling scripts directly within the software’s user interface.

The new Profile node displays performance data, including CPU and memory usage, from all of the nodes upstream of itself, making it easier to identify and resolve any bottlenecks within a script.

Data can be exported in CSV or XML format, and can then be viewed inside Nuke by other users without the need to load the original project.

More control over file localisation
The file localisation system, used to cache files used in projects locally rather than reading them off a remote server, has also been updated to provide “more granular control” of the process.

Users can now set Nuke only to check for updates to localised files only when manually prompted to do so, either as a global preference, or on a per-node basis.

Nuke’s node graph also now shows which nodes have been localised or are in the process of being localised, and whether a localised file is out of date.

Nuke Studio now handles source clips in a more ‘Nuke-like’ way
Foundry has also updated the way that source clips are handled inside Nuke Studio, its combined compositing, editorial and finishing software, to make workflow more consistent with Nuke itself.

Source clip properties are now shown in a Nuke-style Properties panel, and are accessible via the same Python API as Nuke, streamlining pipeline integration.

Pricing and availability
Nuke 11.1, NukeX 11.1 and Nuke Studio 11.1 are available for 64-bit Windows 7 and 10, CentOS 6+ Linux, and macOS 10.12+.

New node-locked and floating licences both cost £2,903 for Nuke, £5,533 for NukeX and £6,404 for Nuke Studio, including one year’s maintenance. Render licences cost £323. Rental pricing is also available.
