Watch Gnomon’s Five Important Lessons: Behind the Scenes of the Award-Winning ‘Coin Operated’ on Livestream.com. ‘Coin Operated’ is the award-winning animated short by first-time director, Nicholas Arioli. On Monday, November 20th, Nicholas will recall the 5 important lessons he learned during the journey of developing an idea into an acclaimed independent short film.

Nicholas Arioli’s first animated short, Coin Operated, won a string of international awards, including Grand Prize at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and an AT&T Film Award.

Later today, at a free event at Gnomon’s Hollywood campus, the director – previously engineering manager at Facebook before switching to film-making – will be revealing five key lessons he learned along the way.

Arioli will be joined by former DreamWorks Animation head of character Animation Rex Grignon, co-founder of cloud-based animation platform Nimble Collective, through which Arioli created Coin Operated.

According to Gnomon, their one-hour presentation will “inspire and educate artists of all levels, and offer priceless insights for those looking to create their own animated short films”.
