Discover how legendary movie posters were created

Gnomon – School of Visual Effects, Games and Animation is offering visitors an unusual chance to discover how the posters for some of Hollywood’s best-known movies were created at its LA campus this weekend.

In a free two-hour workshop, creative director Tomasz Opasinski – whose portfolio includes posters for movies like Tron: Legacy, Oblivion and I Am Legend – will be exploring the secrets of contemporary poster design.

Opasinski, currently Originals Creative for Netflix, has contributed to more than 500 campaigns for Hollywood entertainment advertising agencies and movie studios.

During his talk, Opasinski will reveal the tools and standards used to create work for the biggest agencies in the business and provide an insider’s view of the Hollywood advertising industry.

The event forms part of the LA Design Festival.

Free to attend, but register in advance
Gnomon’s Movie Poster Design Workshop with Tomasz Opasinski takes place at the school’s LA campus from 2-4pm on Saturday 11 June 2016. The event is free to attend, but you’ll need to register online in advance.

Unlike many Gnomon events, the workshop will not be streamed online, so you’ll need to be in LA in person.
