Xsens ships MVN Studio 4.3

Xsens has released MVN Studio 4.3, the latest update to its motion-capture data-analysis sofware, adding new ‘soft access point’ functionality for recording mocap data over Wi-Fi, and a mobile app for controlling recordings.

Record motion capture data over a standard Wi-Fi network
The update enables users of Xsens’ MVN and MVN Biomech inertial mocap suits to transmit data to a base workstation or laptop via a standard Wi-Fi network.

The new functionality is intended to enable users to record motion-capture data in a greater range of locations, including inside standard office environments.

The company has also released a new control app for iOS and Android devices, enabling users to start, stop and preview a recording from a smartphone or tablet.

Pricing and availability
MVN Studio is available in standard and Pro editions, and is available as part of product bundles with Xsens’ mocap suits. We reported on configurations and prices when the latest suits were released in 2014.
