Gnomon School of Visual Effects has announced An Evening with Insomniac Games: a free two-hour panel discussion with key character artists from the developer behind Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet & Clank.

During the session, held at Gnomon’s Hollywood HQ on Thursday 18 February, the panel will discuss how to build convincing stylised characters, focusing on the art for the new Ratchet & Clank PlayStation 4 game.

Panellists include lead character artist Gavin Goulden, lead character TD Adalbert Kinsey, and character artists Henrique Naspolini, Erin Zaneski and Xavier Coelho-Kostolny.

As well as character design, the team will discuss the technical innovations made by Insomniac’s environment artists on the game, and how they speed up the development of characters, weapons and vehicles.
