DreamWorks Animation’s trailer for Kung Fu Panda 3. Co-director Alessandro Carloni will be presenting a special session on the making of the movie at Italy’s VIEW Conference next month.

The VIEW Conference has announced this year’s speaker events, including a special sneak peek at Kung Fu Panda 3, presented by DreamWorks animation veteran – and the movie’s co-director – Alessandro Carloni.

Other speakers at the conference include Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 co-director Kris Pearn and Kung Fu Panda 1 co-director Mark Osborne, who will be talking about his new movie, The Little Prince.

A star-studded line-up from the worlds of animation, VFX and games
Now in its 16th year, VIEW is one of Europe’s leading CG festivals, with a five-day program of talks, workshops and screenings, alongside its own animation awards, the VIEW Award, and sister film festival VIEWFest.

As well as Kung Fu Panda 3, the 2015 conference features many of this year’s top animated features, including a session on the lighting of Inside Out by Pixar director of photography Kim White.

The conference will also feature talks from Blue Sky Studios supervising animator Scott Carroll on The Peanuts Movie, and from Sony Pictures Animation production designer Michael Kurinsky on Hotel Transylvania 2.

In the world of visual effects, VFX supervisor Chris Townsend discusses Avengers: Age of Ultron, while VFX supervisor Tim Alexander and animation supervisor Glenn McIntosh explore ILM’s work on Jurassic World.

Veteran VFX supervisor Erik Nash will discuss the VFX work on Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, while Laika VFX supervisor Steve Emerson will explore the studio’s hybrid stop motion/CG pipeline.

(Some of) Industrial Light & Magic’s greatest hits. The VIEW Conference will feature a special presentation celebrating 40 years of work at the studio, alongside a separate session on fellow industry pioneers PDI.

There are also tributes to two pioneering studios, in the shape of a celebration of 40 years of ILM, and a rare behind-the-scenes look at PDI, presented by studio co-founder and industry legend Glenn Entis.

Other sessions range from Zynga’s chief visual officer and EA veteran Henry LaBounta’s masterclass on improving game visuals to Mork and Mindy screenwriter David Misch’s exploration of comedy and morality.
