Download Eisko’s free hi-res 3D scan of a female head

Eisko’s facial capture process in action. The digital doubles firm has just released a hi-res head scan of actress Tatiana Seguin as a free download, along with a Marmoset scene file with shaders and lighting.

French digital doubles specialist Eisko has released a free hi-res scan of a female head in FBX format, complete with 4,096 x 4,096-pixel texture maps.

In fact, there are four separate FBX files: three base 5-million-poly scans of the actor’s face in one neutral and two extreme expressions, and the final model of her digital double.

The files are provided as part of a pack explaining Eisko’s facial-capture process, which uses a more structured workflow than conventional photogrammetry, aiming to capture data with minimal need for clean-up.

The pack also includes a Marmoset scene file containing the head model with shaders and lighting assigned; and a video showing the model being relit in real time inside Unity 5.

The assets are provided under a Creative Commons licence for non-commercial use.

Updated 9 April: You can now view the head model interactively via Sketchfab. It’s a 37.5k poly version.

Updated 17 December 2018: This particular 3D scan is no longer available for download, but you can still download Eisko’s current scanned, rigged model of a female head.

Full disclosure: In my other life as a freelance technical writer, I did some editing work for Eisko’s blog.
