Radius Effector 2 simplifies motion graphics in Max

And_vfx – aka tools developer Eloi Andaluz – has released Radius Effector 2, a new version of its toolset for cebas’s thinkingParticles particle simulation system for 3ds Max.

Inspired by Cinema 4D’s MoGraph toolset, Radius Effector enables users to animate thousands of objects procedurally, based on distance from a null object, minimising the need to set individual keys.

New options for forces and object distribution
New features in version 2 of the software include the option to direct the daughter objects with forces, using up to six effectors, and three preset falloff curves; and support for Bullet physics.

There are also more options for controlling the position of daughter objects, including the option to distribute them across a control surface, or throughout a volume.

You can get a feel for what the tool is capable of in the very nicely produced demo video above, and watch three further video tutorials on the and_vfx website.

Pricing and system requirements
Radius Effector 2 is available now for thinkingParticles 5 and the upcoming version 6. The Pro edition of the software costs €29 ($40), and there is a free Lite version with a reduced feature set.
