Eye candy: the ‘official’ Life of Pi 2 trailer

A parody trailer for ‘Life of Pi 2’ has been released on YouTube, showing how the movie might have looked without the artists to create its Academy Award-winning visual effects.

The movie has become emblematic for the discontent many artists feel over working conditions within the industry, leading to protests at and following last month’s Oscars ceremony.

In their YouTube post, film-makers FutureSpaceCadets namecheck the Twitter #VFXprotest campaign and link to campaigning blog VFX Soldier.

As well as having a serious point to make, it’s a nicely constructed video. Worth 90 seconds of your time.
