Watch the classes from Autodesk University 2012

Part of Louis Marcoux’s class on animated destruction in 3ds Max from Autodesk University 2011. Autodesk has just posted the classes from the 2012 event – including 17 new 3ds Max tutorials – on the AU website.

Autodesk has made the training courses from last year’s Autodesk University event available for free online.

The materials supplied are provided “as is”, and vary from course to course: some come with a full screencast video of the session, a scene file and a PDF of the original handout; others with only one of those things.

Some instructors also offer the option to send them questions via the website, although how much support they provide is at their discretion.

Most of the courses cover Autodesk’s architecture and engineering tools, but there are a good selection for both 3ds Max and Maya. Softimage users get just two, though, and Mudbox and MotionBuilder, one apiece.

Still, it’s all free. You will need to register on the site first, but after that, you can access any course.
