Sketchfab launches Pro service

WebGL-based online model display system Sketchfab has launched a new Pro version of its service.

The site, which describes itself as “like YouTube, but for 3D files”, enables users to upload 3D models and share them online in an interactive format, without the need to install viewing plugins.

Unlike the existing free accounts, which are capped at 10 models, the new Pro service enables subscribers to upload up to 100 models.

Uploads can also be made private, much like Vimeo videos, with password protection for individual files. The assets can also be displayed in an unbranded viewer.

Pro accounts cost €9 per month (around $11) or €89 ($110) per year.

Sketchfab doesn’t require any [third-party plugins]: we use standard technology (WebGL and HTML5) to display 3D models in real time in the browser. You can easily share your models on the web, or even embed our viewer on any web page. It’s just like YouTube, but for 3D files.

Pricing
You can join Sketchfab for free! You will be able to upload up to 10 models of 50 MB each, which means up to 500 MB of free storage space. If this is not enough, you can also opt for Sketchfab PRO and enjoy up to 100 models, private sharing, password protection, up to 200 MB files and an unbranded viewer. You can upgrade to the Pro version for 9€/month or 89€/year. [Around $11 and $110, respectively]
