Gnomon releases two new anatomy training DVDs

A teaser video for the Gnomon Workshop’s Anatomy Workshop: Volume Two – Figure Drawing Principles.

The Gnomon Workshop has released two new anatomy training DVDs, recorded by figurative artist Charles Hu.

Anatomy Workshop: Volume One – Structure and Proportion and Volume Two – Figure Drawing Principles total over four hours of training, and are intended for artists looking to understand the human figure better.

A grounding in anatomy
Anatomy Workshop: Volume One – Structure and Proportion guides viewers through the proportions of the human figure and key structural landmarks, and discusses the differences between male and female bodies.

The second tutorial starts where the first ends, moving to a live figure drawing studio to demonstrate how to draw from a live model.

Anatomy Workshop: Volume Two – Figure Drawing Principles also covers the principles of shading, starting with how light and shadow work to describe form, and discusses topics like cast shadow versus core shadow; and bounced light, direct light and highlights.
