e-on software releases LumenRT 3 Review
E-on software has shipped LumenRT 3 Review: a new version of its real-time visualisation tool for SketchUp.
New features in the latest release – which is touted in the press material as ‘no CG skills required’ – include wind animation for vegetation, and improved materials, including “varnished, translucent or luminous” surfaces.
Rendering performance of the software, which is capable of simulating physically accurate lighting in near real time, has been improved, with e-on citing a speed boost of up to ten times over previous releases.
Other new features include screen-space ambient occlusion, lens flares, automatic animation smoothing, a user-selectable atmosphere and horizon, and a ‘Draft Export’ function for rapid previews.
Versions for Max and Revit in development
LumenRT 3 Review is available now for all versions of SketchUp 7 and 8, running on Windows XP and above and Mac OS X 10.6 and above. The software costs $295, while the add-on Content Pack costs $195.
Users of versions 1 and 2 of the software are eligible for a free upgrade until 15 September.
A version for Revit and 3ds Max is in development and is expected to be released in Q3 2012.
