Watch a man control 3D software with a Wiimote
We’ve been meaning to post this one for a while now: not because it’s something you’re actually going to use in your own work, but because it’s just so bizarre.
CG Artist Micah Denn has posted a YouTube video showing him modelling in Blender with a Wiimote games controller and a keyboard.
Denn describes the workflow as “surprisingly natural”, and it is a lot faster than you’d expect, although it’s difficult to tell how well it would extend to anything more complex than the poly-pushing shown above.
If you want to play along at home, you’ll need Linux, the libwiimote library, and some programming savvy; but even if that isn’t for you, it’s a cool thing to see in action.
