I'm I the only one who thinks the Cintiqs are dramatically over weight, over priced and severely lacking in pixel resolution? I want a 16" I can hold in my arms that has a 1920x1080 display and it shouldn't cost more than 50% more than a 16" LCD and large intuos. A 24" should be more like 2560x1600, especially for that price. So sad the newer models are so low res. They talk up the insane precision of the pens and display them on big huge blocky pixels? I guess it's a Intuos 5 for me and I'll keep waiting for Wacom to get the Cintiqs more realistic.

I've got the 12wx. It set me back a cool $1k. It's great, but too expensive, especially considering that I paid 1/2 that for the combination of a 24" LCD and an Intuos 4. Wacom really needs to bring their prices down. The 24HD looks great, but not $2,600 great. That's almost as much as my PC itself.

The real problem is that Wacom has no legitimate competition in this arena. Had they actually some (credible) competition then they'd be forced to enter a pricing war and stop jerking around their customers. It's not just the hobbyists who have to live on budgets. Pros, freelancers and studios alike, all have their bottom lines. The Cintiq line may be great, but there's not $2,600 worth of tech in there. Guaranteed.
