Project Dogwaffle team ships PD Pro 7 Howler

The Project Dogwaffle team has released an updated version of PD Howler, its digital paint package.

New features in PD Pro 7 Howler include updates to the software’s internal API. While the new 3D Designer toolset isn’t likely to replace your dedicated 3D software, it is capable of generating some interesting abstract and fractal-like results using 2D textures as height-field data.

Other new features include ‘orbicles’ (orbital particles, shown above), described on the website as the first of a planned series of 3D brushes within the software.

Aside from that, it’s mainly tweaks and bugfixes, although the list of these is fairly extensive.

PD Pro 7 Howler is available now for Windows, price $159.
