Hi Razor,

Thank you for raising interesting points. I'll be glad to answer them for you.
1. This is the question we should ask TS and all other 3D shops, which resell these model as middleman. In our case we provide only the platform for artists to trade directly with customers. Of course, if we get any claim about models that infringe rights, we delete them immediately. I have the same questions since 3D stock market emerged and will do my best to protect copyright laws, but at the moment my attention rests on how to make better conditions for artists to earn from selling their own assets. Nevertheless, the point is taken.
2. We are very different from TS in many aspects and the issue of content quality lies in how the internal search engine sorts results and other quality control functions. Here we have many solutions that will be implemented in near future. But again, if we are talking about quality issues, shouldn't we ask how to motivate artists to sell high quality content in the first place? Wouldn't you agree that the best way to do this is to give them maximum returns?
3. It's not easy to get started. Especially if you are trying to make something new and unique. We really do our best to give artists professional services. Now we will try even harder and I hope someday to receive your recognition.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

I guess I have some questions and possible issues with the CGTrader site:

1. How can they sell copyrighted material like NFL logos, Toy Story characters, and Warcraft characters with Warcraft logos on the models? Did they get permission to sell all that copyrighted material? Do trademarks and copyrights not extend into 3D models?

2. It appears the cheesy modelers from TurboSquid are just placing their models on CGTrader (Panther, Polar Bear, Snow Goose, NFL characters, etc.). So yeah, what's the point in having a TS part 2?

3. In my opinion the bland site design, slow server speed, and overall presentation of CGTrader stinks of amateurism... and for the buyer is just an infusion shift of TurboSquid's second rate models and prices all over again.

Another startup trying to attract artists with large commisions.
Unfortunately these starting marketplaces often have no traffic resulting in paying you a large commision of nothing while they use your work to gain as much market share as they can.
Once they become more popular, very often they start changing their strategies, policies and commission rates because they can. It's good to have these sites competing to make sure artists are being rewarded but be aware of what the real returns are before jumping ship.

Great news, I've been thinking about selling 3d stock for some time but don't fancy giving away 40-60% of my hard work. This site looks great. Will definitely give it a go.
Cheers!
