Golaem ships Crowd 1.2

Rendered queues: a Golaem Crowd simulation of 1,500 people in a virtual airport.

French developer Golaem has released an update to Golaem Crowd, its particle-based Maya crowd system.

New features in version 1.2 include support for V-Ray, a switch to Disney’s open-source Partio particle file format and the option to set waypoints for individual crowd characters.

Developed in collaboration with animation house Mikros Image, Crowd is intended as a more manageable alternative to Massive for small and medium-sized studios.

Version 1.2 of Golaem Crowd is available now. The price has not been announced formally, but our spies tell us it’s competitive with Massive.
