The Blender Foundation has made its Siggraph demo reel available on YouTube, and pretty cool it is too.
We’d be lying if we said it has the same strength in depth as those of the big commercial software developers, and it’s not all brand new: some of the work featured is a couple of years old, while all of the Foundation’s old ‘open movies‘ also make an appearance.
However, it is a sign of the times: as far as we can remember, it’s the first time Blender has had a Siggraph reel like this – and it’s interesting to see just what a range of paid work is being done with open-source tools.
