Eye candy: new ‘Samaritan’ Unreal technology demo
Video footage of Unreal Technologies’ new ‘Samaritan’ tech demo has been uploaded to YouTube.
The movie, which seems to have been recorded from the audience of Unreal’s GDC press conference, makes an interesting counterpart to the new CryEngine 3 demo released last week.
With the inevitable loss in image quality, it’s hard to draw comparisons, but there is some very nice character work going on. The demo runs in real-time on three graphics cards (said to be GeForce GTX 580s), though Unreal speculates it could be optimised to run on one.
