Artist spotlight: Alessandro Baldasseroni

Blur Studio’s lead character artist explains how he moved from low-poly games work to the leading US facility.

We recently had the opportunity to interview Blur Studio’s Alessandro Baldasseroni. In the 12-minute video, Alessandro talks about how he moved his career forward from being a generalist working on low-poly content in his native Italy to lead character artist at one of the world’s highest-profile studios.

Alessandro grew up in Milan, beginning his working life as a CAD operator before moving to local videogame developer Milestone, where he worked on titles including FX Racing and MotoGP ’07.

Moving to California in 2007, he currently works at Blur Studio, where he has contributed models and textures for a range of high-profile game cinematics, including those for Warhammer Online, Mass Effect 2 and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Alessandro’s award-winning personal artworks have been featured in books, magazines and websites throughout the world.
