CG Channel met up with Scott Spencer to talk about his road into the industry, making art for a living, and his new book “ZBrush Character Creation: Advanced Digital Sculpting.”

After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Scott left to study classical figurative sculpture at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. His animated short “Innocence” was accepted into the Animation Magazine Winners Circle in 2005. His advanced sculpting experience led him to work in ZBrush for visual effects, games, toys, and collectible design at Gentle Giant Studios.

Scott Spencer’s resume includes work on The Da Vinci Code, X-men 3, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He also worked as an organic modeler for Pendulum Studios (a division of Activision). He has produced numerous video tutorials and manuals for the ZBrush community.

He has recently released a new book on ZBrush character creation available on Amazon.com and teaches Zbrush at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood.
